Consultant Biography
Mr Panagiotis Takis Kalognomas was trained and has worked in the NHS as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since 1995. He has a great deal of experience in Anterior Segment Surgery, and has routinely performed Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery since 1992. Mr Kalognomas is a Board-certified Ophthalmologist, and is licensed to practice in the UK and EU.
He has participated in numerous ophthalmic symposia and courses, and has been teaching Lasik and Phaco Cataract Surgery. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and is registered as a Specialist with the General Medical Council in the UK.
Mr Kalognomas is currently devoting his full attention and practice to the new ophthalmic sub-specialty of refractive surgery. He is using the Technolas 217 and the MEL 70®G-SCAN Excimer Laser to perform LASIK, LASEK and PRK procedures.
He also performs astigmatic keratotomy, clear lens extraction, and phakic intraocular lenses (IOL’s) to correct ametropias and topical phaco-cataract surgery.
